Very short shrift is given in all this to the major reason, why the living standards of the "civilized" countries have been improving for the last 500 years. One can only marvel at the willful moral blindness of a person who refers to the East India Company as "this great enterprise". Such self-congratulatory notes are in very abundant supply from those, who enjoy the spoils of the unjust colonial system.
